Don Muccino, Managing Director
Don is a second generation Hatfield resident. Don's parents, along with his two brothers, moved to Hatfield in 1970; all are graduates of Hatfield schools. He lives with his wife, Lisa, and 2 children: Matthew, an 8th grader and Julie 16, a 10th grader. Both students attend Smith Academy, located in Hatfield. Don is the successful owner of Acme Automotive Center Inc. in Northampton, which employs 14 full time employees.

Acme and the Muccinos have been Hatfield supporters for over 40 years, donating to the Hatfield school system, Lions Club, the Hatfield book club, the local education foundation, the Hatfield Park and Recreation and numerous other town wide events. Don was a three-sport coach for the Hatfield Park & Recreation Dept. for grades 3-6 for four years.

Don became interested in the solar industry after having a solar system installed on his home, becoming intrigued by the renewable energy industry and how it can help save the environment and be great for the future of our country. He then became friendly with Donavin Gratz, the owner of Green in Green, which installed the Muccino's thermal solar system. This eventually lead to Don's investment in NESDA and active role as owner and Managing Director.

Donavin Gratz, President
Donavin Gratz has been self employed since 1988, when he began woodworking, historic renovation and period correct additions to homes in Lancaster PA. This experience lead him to the art of fine woodworking. He owned and operated a large architectural woodworking company in Brooklyn, NY for ten year. He participated in the rebuilding of lower Manhattan after the World Trade Center attacks. It was during this time that the demand for fossil fuels and the need for alternate energy solutions began to be of great personal concern, spurring him to leave Manhattan and find a home where people were aware of the need to rethink our energy sources. Donavin established Green in Green in Hatfield in late 2005 and focused on the passive and active solar designs abandoned in the late 1980s.

After Green in Green's first 100 installs of thermal solar systems, the company won the bid for the Wisdom Way Solar Village in Greenfield. During that installations, the company merged with NorthEast Solar and now designs and installs both Photovoltaic and Thermal solar projects in central Massachusetts. Donavin has always kept his thoughts outside the box and will continue to do so in order to provide customers and himself with alternative solutions to the needs that we all have to live and breathe on this earth.
